Every so often someone will ask me where my handle, laughingacademy
, comes from, and I’ll explain that it’s old slang for a sanatorium or an insane asylum. However, I can’t remember where I first encountered the term (though I suspect it was in something by Stephen King), and I’ve never been able to cite a reference.
