Jeeves Would Not Approve of My Shoes

Bertie Wooster, however, would probably admire them quite a lot. The footwear in question is a newly acquired pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars in a snazzy black and white houndstooth, which, as it happens, matches the Bill Blass coat I inherited from Mom. Best of all, the store where I bought them, Famous Footwear, was offering them at a discounted price and I had a coupon, so the final cost was a mere $15.

The reason I evoke the world’s most beloved peer-and-manservant pairing is that they are one of this month’s featured fandoms at crack_van. My perusal of the fandom overview and story recs has rekindled my affection for the literary progeny of Plum, and inspired me to seek out the Wodehouse corpus, in particular those limbs I have not previously examined, to whit, the Blandings Castle and Psmith stories. Oddly, the results of a keyword search for “Psmith” at include Relativity: the special and the general theory; a popular exposition, by Albert Einstein, and Dunblin’s Joyce, by Hugh Kenner.
