The above photo, fortunately, does not reflect my current condition, as the only alcohol I had last night was one swig from a champagne bottle passed down from the stage by John Flansburgh. (Incidentally, if one drinks directly from a newly opened bottle of champagne, it’s very likely to foam up and spill all over one’s chin.)

What'd they play in the first set encore/second set?

Let’s see...I wasn't taping so my recollection isn’t as clear as usual. First set encore, the Johns came out by themselves and sang (I think) “Hope That I Get Old Before I Die”, then were joined by the others for...“Istanbul”? (I know they played it, but am unsure if it was in the encore or the end of the set proper.) Oh, and they passed out lyrics sheets for a singalong of “Auld Lang Syne.”

The second set was almost identical, but they opened with “Auld Lang Syne” — which is when I got the champagne — and played a few songs that weren’t in the first: “Particle Man,” “Spiraling Shape,” others I can’t remember at the moment...was “End of the Tour” in the first set too? No new (i.e. unreleased) songs, and the Venue Songs were the same.

They did do end of the tour in the first set. I liked the show a lot, though the people around us were annoying. Hearing The Day and Absolutley Bill's Mood were great. And the venue songs thing was as well.
