No, I’m not going on a date!
When I’m on the night shift I usually wear jeans and a T-shirt or sweater. Tonight I’m more dressed up, because I might go to the Players Club after work if I have the energy. Anyway, SK and EK, who are at the front desk, noticed.
“Ooh, look at you. Got plans tonight?”
“Possibly.”
“Woohoo! We’ll have to wrap up early, [laughingacademy] has a date!”
Then there’s my boss, L, who often asks, “Oho, hot date?” if I’m wearing a nice dress in the office.
I’m just going out! I can have fun with friends, or on my own! Why do my mostly female co-workers — many of whom are also single — assume I have to be paired up with someone?
